Terms of Use

Last updated: September 29, 2026
Welcome to Haki — a closed social network for verified university students. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Haki (“we”, “us”). They cover the whole app: the campus feed, Moments, direct messages and Yin-Yang.
By creating an account, tapping Sign up or Log in, or otherwise using Haki, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Haki.
Zero tolerance. Haki has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Harassment, hate speech and sexually explicit material are banned everywhere in the app. Violations lead to immediate removal of the content and termination of the account — without warning.

1. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid email address issued by a university that Haki supports.
You sign up by verifying that email address with a one-time code. One person, one account, under your real identity.
Use your real name and accurate academic details. Where they can be taken from your verified student email, they are locked to your account. You must not impersonate anyone or misstate who you are or which university you belong to.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your email account secure and tell us straight away if you suspect someone else has access.

2. What is not allowed

You must not post, send, upload or share anything — or behave in a way — that falls into these categories:
Harassment and bullying. Insulting, threatening, intimidating, stalking or demeaning anyone, including continuing to contact someone after they asked you to stop or blocked you.
Hate speech. Attacking or dehumanising people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic, or promoting hate groups and their symbols.
Sexually explicit content and exploitation. Nudity, pornography, sexual solicitation, sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent, and any sexual content involving minors (which we report to the authorities).
Violence and self-harm. Threats, graphic violence, glorifying terrorism or crime, and content that encourages self-harm.
Deception and spam. Impersonation, fake accounts, scams, phishing, spam, and misleading anyone about who you are.
Privacy and legal violations. Sharing other people’s private information (doxxing), infringing copyright or other rights, or breaking the law.
Abuse of the service. Bots or scraping, attempts to get around moderation, blocking or reporting, interfering with Haki’s security, or creating new accounts to evade a ban.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. We decide in good faith what breaks these Terms.

3. User-generated content

Haki is made by its users. Posts, articles, Moments, comments, messages and Yin-Yang profiles are created by students, not by Haki. Whoever posts content is solely responsible for it.
Objectionable content is banned. Everything listed above — and anything defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or intended to upset, humiliate or endanger others — is objectionable content. We do not tolerate it, whoever posts it and wherever it appears, including private chats and anonymous posts.
Your commitment. By creating an account you agree not to post objectionable content and not to abuse other users. This is a condition of using Haki; breaking it ends your access.
Help us find it. Filters cannot catch everything and we do not review all content before it appears, so please report anything that breaks these Terms. Reporting takes a few seconds and is anonymous.

4. Your content and who owns it

You own your content. Everything you post on Haki — text, photos, videos, articles, comments and messages (“Your Content”) — remains yours. Haki does not claim ownership.
Licence to run the service. You give Haki a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence — which Haki may extend to the service providers that help run it — to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and deliver Your Content inside Haki to the audience you choose, and to operate, protect and improve the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backup copies kept for a limited time.
Your promise. You confirm that you own Your Content or have the right to post it, and that it does not break these Terms or anyone’s rights.

5. Anonymous posts and comments

Anonymous posting lets you speak freely on campus. It gives you anonymity from other students — not from Haki, and not from the law.
Who knows it is you. Other users see no name or profile on an anonymous post or comment, and we never reveal the author to them. Haki does record which account wrote it.
Same rules, same responsibility. Anonymous content must follow these Terms and the law. You are personally and solely responsible for everything you post anonymously.
No defamation or targeting. Do not state false facts that damage the reputation of an identifiable person — students, teachers and university staff included — and do not use anonymity to harass, threaten, spread hate speech or reveal anyone’s private information.
Lawful requests. If a court, the police, a prosecutor’s office or another competent authority sends us a request that is valid under applicable law, we may disclose the account behind anonymous content, together with related data. We check every request and disclose only what it lawfully requires.
Emergencies. If content shows an immediate threat to someone’s life or safety, we may share information with the authorities without waiting for a formal request.
Enforcement. Anonymous content that breaks these Terms is removed, and its author faces the same penalties as for any other content, up to immediate termination.

6. Yin-Yang (campus dating)

Yin-Yang is for students aged 17–28, and the age and photos on your profile must be true and recent. To keep younger members safe, anyone under 18 is only shown to — and can only match with — people within 2 years of their age.
Age verification. Your university email confirms that you are a student; your age is declared by you. Giving a false age — above all to be shown to members under 18 — is a serious violation: we terminate the account immediately and may report it to the authorities. We may ask you to confirm your age and pause your Yin-Yang profile until you do.
Consent comes first. A match only means two people are interested in talking — it is not consent to anything else. Every conversation, photo exchange and meeting needs the clear, continuing agreement of both people, and either of you can stop at any time: “no”, silence or a block means stop. Never share someone’s photos, messages or profile outside Haki without their permission.
Use only photos of yourself. Treat every match with respect: no harassment, pressure, unwanted sexual messages or requests for money.
Meeting offline. Haki only verifies a university email address. We do not run identity or criminal background checks and cannot vouch for anyone. If you meet someone, choose a public place, arrange your own transport, tell a friend where you will be and leave if you feel unsafe. If you are in danger, call emergency services (112 in Kazakhstan) first, then report the user in the app.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline. Haki is not a party to them and, to the extent permitted by law, is not liable for any user’s conduct.

7. Moderation, reporting and blocking

We work to keep objectionable material off Haki and to give you tools to protect yourself:
Filtering. Posts, articles and comments are checked for profanity, hate speech and explicit solicitation before they are published, and the photos and video frames you upload for posts, Moments, profile pictures and Yin-Yang are screened automatically. Flagged content may be rejected.
Reporting. Posts, comments, Moments, profiles, Yin-Yang cards and chats have a Report option. Pick a reason — harassment, hate speech, inappropriate content, spam, impersonation or other — and add details if you wish. Reports are anonymous: the person you report is never told who filed it.
Action within 24 hours. Our team reviews every report and acts on it within 24 hours: content that breaks these Terms is removed and the users responsible are ejected from Haki. Urgent reports, such as threats of violence, are handled first.
How we decide. Reports are reviewed by people, who look at the reported content and its context — including, for a reported chat, the messages concerned. Depending on how serious the violation is and whether it has happened before, we remove the content, limit features, or suspend or terminate the account. Zero-tolerance violations always lead to removal and termination.
Blocking. You can block any user from their profile, a post, a Yin-Yang card or a chat. You will no longer see their posts, comments or messages, and they cannot contact you. Manage your list in Settings → Blocked users.
We may also remove any content, or restrict any feature, whenever we reasonably believe it is needed to keep the community safe — even if it is not listed above.

8. Enforcement and termination

If you break these Terms we may, without notice, remove content, limit features, suspend your account or terminate it permanently.
Immediate termination. For serious violations — harassment, hate speech, sexually explicit content, threats, or anything that endangers others — we terminate the account immediately and permanently, without prior warning.
We may report unlawful content and conduct, including child sexual abuse material and credible threats, to the authorities.
If you think we made a mistake, contact us and we will review it.
You can stop using Haki and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Provisions that are meant to outlast termination — including the disclaimers and limits of liability — continue to apply.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we protect it and how you can delete it. It forms part of these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

Haki is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that Haki will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
Content on Haki is created by its users. We do not endorse it, we cannot verify all of it, and we are not responsible for it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haki and the people who build and operate it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — Haki, or from the content or conduct of other users, online or offline.
To the same extent, our total liability for any claim relating to Haki is limited to the amount you paid us to use Haki in the 12 months before the claim (if any).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Haki, its creators, and operators from and against any third-party claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with Your Content, your use of Haki, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to Haki are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by emailing a written notice detailing your claim to [email protected]. We will have 30 days to review and respond.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

14. Changes to Haki and these Terms

We may update Haki and these Terms as the service grows. When a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Haki afterwards, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, you can delete your account at any time.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms, appeals and urgent safety concerns: use the in-app Report option for content and users, or contact us directly.
